Small moving rigid body into a viscous incompressible fluid

چکیده
We consider a single disk moving under the influence of a 2D viscous fluid and we study the asymptotic as the size of the solid tends to zero. If the density of the solid is independent of ε, the energy equality is not sufficient to obtain a uniform estimate for the solid velocity. This will be achieved thanks to the optimal Lp − Lq decay estimates of the semigroup associated to the fluid-rigid body system and to a fixed point argument. Next, we will deduce the convergence to the solution of the Navier-Stokes equations in R.

A class of Cartesian grid embedded boundary algorithms for incompressible flow with time-varying complex geometries
We present a class of numerical algorithms for simulating viscous fluid problems of incompressible flow interacting with moving rigid structures. The proposed Cartesian grid embedded boundary algorithms employ a slightly different idea from the traditional direct-forcing Immersed Boundary Methods; i.e. the proposed algorithms calculate and apply the force-density in the extended solid domain to...
متن کاملNumerical analysis of a penalization method for the three-dimensional motion of a rigid body in an incompressible viscous fluid
We present and analyze a penalization method wich extends the the method of [2] to the case of a rigid body moving freely in an incompressible fluid. The fluid-solid system is viewed as a single variable density flow with an interface captured by a level set method. The solid velocity is computed by averaging at avery time the flow velocity in the solid phase. This velocity is used to penalize ...
متن کاملConvergence Analysis of a Penalization Method for the Three-Dimensional Motion of a Rigid Body in an Incompressible Viscous Fluid
We present and analyze a penalization method which extends the the method of [2] to the case of a rigid body moving freely in an incompressible fluid. The fluid-solid system is viewed as a single variable density flow. The interface is captured by a color function satisfying a transport equation. The solid velocity is computed by averaging at every time the flow velocity in the solid phase. Thi...
متن کاملOn the motion of several rigid bodies in an incompressible non-Newtonian and heat-conducting fluid
Over the past years, there has been a great impulse in studying the motion of a rigid body. We would like to quote the work of Brenner [2] concerning the steady motion of one or more bodies in a linear viscous liquid in the Stokes approximation as well as Weinberger [18], [19], Serre [16] regarding the fall of a body in an incompressible Navier-Stokes fluid under the action of gravity and Borch...
متن کاملCollisions in 3d Fluid Structure Interactions Problems
This paper deals with the system composed by a rigid ball moving into a viscous incompressible fluid, over a fixed horizontal plane. The equations of motion for the fluid are the Navier–Stokes equations and the equations for the motion of the rigid ball are obtained by applying Newton’s laws. We show that for any weak solution of the corresponding system satisfying the energy inequality, the ri...
